T. Andrew Huddleston is the first and current digital director at the International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America (UAW), which boasts nearly 1 million active and retired members. He is responsible for leading the UAW’s digital communication strategy in areas like the web, mobile, video, online organizing and social media.
Huddleston has led key initiatives that have helped the UAW expand its digital influence and embrace innovative ways of doing business. He spearheaded concurrent efforts to change the way the UAW handled mass email and text messaging, launched a mobile app and redesigned the union’s flagship website, which was nominated at the 20th Annual Webby Awards and won a People’s Voice Award. He was also instrumental in dramatically improving social media engagement metrics, doubling the size of the UAW’s member cell phone list, nearly tripling the size of its member email list and establishing a first-ever process for organizing potential members online.
