Off-Site Tours with Shake-Up Friends
September 29, 2016
At this point in the conference, your brain is probably full and you need to get out and treat the senses. We’ve lined up three off-site activities for you to choose from, and we’re hoping you’ll partake in the opportunity to check out Atlanta with your Shake-Up peers!
Ponce City Market & Office Hop
Join us for a tour of this Atlanta gem, the Ponce City Market, located in a historic Sears, Roebuck & Co. building just a few miles away from the W Hotel. The market is chock-full of shops, a Central Food Hall with award-winning cuisine that ranges from burgers to fresh-caught, local seafood. We’ll start off with a tour of a handful of Atlanta-based companies with cool office spaces and just as innovative digital strategies: Howstuffworks, General Assembly, Twitter and MailChimp.
Off-site MLK tour with Atlanta Councilmember Kwanza Hall
We’ll visit the childhood home of Martin Luther King Jr. and get a guided tour of other MLK historic landmarks by Atlanta Midtown Councilmember Kwanza, whose father was MLK’s chief of staff. During this exclusive tour, you’ll hear stories of his father’s work with the legendary civil rights leader, visit several historic sites and enjoy local fare from the city’s iconic food trucks. The tour is limited to the first 15 registrants to sign up.
Yoga in the Museum
Looking for some flexibility in your life? Join your peers for Downward Dog and Savasana during this relaxing yoga session at one of Atlanta’s cultural gems. Whether you’re new to yoga or know yoga well, this outing will have something for everyone. Namaste!
